Review: Tantus Echo

Can you hear me me me me? Wait, wrong kind of echo! The Tantus Echo is named for it’s repeating “heads” all along the shaft that grow a little smaller with each iteration.

So, is the Tantus Echo a vibrator that will have your cries echoing through the neighborhood, or is it destined to fade out? Let’s find out!

Red’s Warnings
Do not use silicone lube on this toy. Also, the head is fairly big. If it won’t fit, do not force it!

Pulling out the Echo had me oohing at it’s pretty design. The gracefully arching bumps rippling down the shaft looked marvelous in copper. Rippling is probably the best way to describe the texture, actually. Each “head” rises and falls at an angle, sort of like water ripples being blown by the wind. On the opposite side of the bumps are two small symmetrical channels an a slightly raised ridge that runs vertically down the shaft for extra sensation.

The Tantus Echo is perfectly smooth, almost glassy in texture. This smoothness is from tip to base, which can lends itself nicely to riding fast and it means you can get away with a little less lube in theory, anyway.

In practice, however, I found that the very large head on the echo was unwieldy to get in without some warm up. The very pronounced ripples needed even more lube to be able to stay comfortable at any speed above “slow”. Of course, all this lube plus the slick texture on the base became problematic. I found myself having trouble keeping a solid grip on Echo!

I was hoping there had to be something likeable about this dildo. Then I found it: This toy is made for G-spot or Prostate stimulate and is a dream for anal!

The bumps are there to give tons of stimulation as they ripple through your anus and brush those sensitive spots, and really did feel like a penis entering again and again. The only gripes for anal would be that the head is really big for anyone inexperienced and the base is awfully small in comparison to the head. Mixing the two you get an advanced toy that is best used very carefully, preferably in a harness in order to prevent any accidents. Also, the ripples can clean out any dirt inside your rectum, so make sure to use an enema first to avoid unpleasant surprises.

For G/P Spot stimulation, my advice with the Tantus Echo is to go slow and use that vibrating bullet. Less speed is more sensation with this dildo, so take your time and feel those multiple heads gently popping past. You may even want to rock the toy a little for even more sensation!

Pros: Awesome for anal, great for going slow, attractive in any metallic coloration, comes with free vibrating bullet, high quality manufacture

Cons: Large diameter head, small-ish base, needs lots of lube, can get messy if used anally

Areas to watch when cleaning: The hole in the base is a nightmare to clean without a baby bottle brush. Past that, this toy is easy to clean.

The Verdict: Almost worth it

Are you experienced at anal and love that popping feel of a head on entry? Then you will love this dildo! The Echo is also great for people who love taking it slow and really feeling their G/P spot. For speed fans and those not big on mess or anal, however, the Echo is probably a toy you’ll want to skip.

    @M. Larkins:
    That’s wonderful news! Sexual health really is for all adults.

    Actually, yes! Tantus still sells the Echo on their website. In fact, since I made this review they added in a soft version, a version with a handle so you can really get in there, and the option for a “grab bag” color/hardness at nearly 50% off the normal price. It’s a really popular toy.
